RC（Internet Relay Chat的缩写，“因特网中继聊天”）是一种通过网络的即时聊天方式。其主要用于群体聊天，但同样也可以用于个人对个人的聊天。芬兰人雅尔口·欧伊卡林恁（Jarkko Oikarinen）于1988年8月创造了IRC来取代一个叫做MUT的程序。
1、在ubuntu软件中心下载并安装xchat irc或其它irc客户端
2、启动xchat，进入irc.freenode.net
下面以昵称为deepfuture为例，密码为abc12345，当然这不是真的密码～
1)选择昵称
/nick 昵称
/nick deepfuture
提示
An email containing nickname activation instructions has been sent to [email protected].

2)注册成正式用户
/msg nickserv register 密码 邮件地址
/msg nickserv register abc12345 [email protected]
然后你会在邮箱中收到这封信:

/msg NickServ VERIFY REGISTER deepfuture ewrkkxxxxxkkjjjjjjaaaa

3)认证身份
/msg NickServ IDENTIFY 密码
输入
/msg NickServ IDENTIFY abc12345 #认证身份
认证身份后完成登录
You are now identified for deepfuture.
2、注册聊天室

不好的老实跟着我往下做
1）确认聊天室是否存在
/msg ChanServ info #聊天室名
输入
/msg ChanServ info #computing-tech
如果已经存 在，将提示下面的信息，则必须换一个名字，
info #computing-tech

2）在保证聊天室不存在的情况下，开始注册
首先，加入聊天室
/join #computing-tech

然后注册聊天室
/msg ChanServ register 名称

3)注册成功，可以登录聊天室测试
可以退出xchat，然后使用它的图形界面登录，也可以直接退出，再登录：
先退出聊天室
/leave #computing-tech
您已离开频道 #computing-tech
然后加入聊天室
/join #computing-tech
最后设置自己为频道管理员
/msg chanserv op #computing-tech deepfuture
4)对频道不懂之处通过这个命令查一下
/msg chanserv help
